4HWW - Overcome Your Fear of Flying

All.

As my journey into the 4 Hour Work Week continues. Another website on the go.

Stop for a moment and think about it. You like the idea of the four hour work week, you want to take some mini retirments, yet you don't like to fly!! I love to fly, yet I've found the below website that will help you if you don't.

The answer. It is here at overcomeflyingfear.com .

You have a fear of flying, yet don't want to admit it. It stops you in your tracks before you have even taken your first mini retirment. I'll let you into a secret. The fear doesn't come from anywhere else but you. As you think about your fear of flying, you're most likely not sat at the airport right? Yet, your heart is beginning to race, your hands might be starting to sweat. You're tensing up, your gripping the chair your sat in etc. Yet you're not near the airport or plane. In fact how often has not being comfortable about flying stopped you from doing something or getting something. A job promotion, a trip to the world cup?

The fear is all in your mind. Therefore so is the solution! You have to begin retraining your mind and brain to begin to think differently. One of the things I like about the this, is you don't have to say I suffer from or I have a fear of. I know if you're like me and  don't like something it isn't something you talk about. You think about it and then try and ignore it.

The resolution is quick, easy and safe. You can do it in your own home. It uses the change technologies of hypnosis and neuro lingusitic program among others.  Once you easily master this skill just imagine the quamtum leap you can take in your mini retirements. Fiji is nice this time of year or maybe you just want to visit family and friends on the other side of the country.

New Website - I Have A New Website

All,

I have a new website up and running. This is a new venture for me and I begin to expand my 4 Hour Work Week Empire.

http://www.ihavejointpain.com

It is a website set up to help other people who suffer from and are looking for information on joint pain. There is the potential for lots of expansion as joint pain is quite generic, you can zero in on many different types of pain. Thumb, knee. Anywhere you have a joint

Please let me know what you think.

OffLine Bloging in a 5 * Hotel

All,

As I was walking the great Oxford Street in London. I did have an excellent idea for a blog post or 3, yet they now escape me.

I find myself toady in the following Marriot Hotel, Grosvenor House. As hotels go it isn't too bad. Yet compared to other 5 * Hotels. I actually think it is pretty average. From my hotel experience I'm wanting more than just a hello and a comfortable bed. Although the staff here are very nice and can fulfil all my questions and requests.

Any way I'm writing this with . I like the fact that I can have an offline client on my usb stick. I currently use a Corsair Memory Stick. It suits my needs very well. The support is excellent and for a traveller like me. It has a 10 year warrenty. This has come in very handy when I've pulled, pushed and broken it. It just gets replaced for me.Thanks Corsair. It is quick enough for my needs.

My one grip about w.blogger at the moment is that if I want to create an url link. If I've highlighted some text and select to create the link, it doesn't seem to realize that I want the text I've highlighted to be the url text,

my blog

I'm expecting the text to be picked up somewhere. I hope it is just a setting somewhere. Only option seems to be US English or an English version. Does anybody have any other recommendatsion for a usb blog editor?

I'm use to using Zoundry. Which I liked. Yet I wanted a offline usb client. Early days, we'll see how we get on. I might have a look and see if Google themselves do an offline editor. Maybe I can hook it into Google Docs in someway or maybe Thuderbird.

I'm sure a quick Google Search will reveal all.

Left The Office - Now The Next 4 Hour Work Week Project Begins

All,

Just a little missive.

Several things to tell you . I've changed the rss feeds. It all seems to be working for me, yet you never know.. Sorry if it doesn't for you. It would be best to unsubscribe and resubscribe.

I'm working on my next passive income stream/project. This one is really testing my boundaries. I'm so excited though. It rocks. This is taking me up a level or 3.

Good Bye Office

Well it finally had to happen. I've left the 'office'. I am now on the road to fulfilling my dream to becoming a fully fledged 4 Hour Work Week Worker.

Well it is more a remote worker at the moment. It is sometimes very scary, yet at the same time bloody exciting. I know I have it in me to succeed. I just need to keep telling myself and going forward.

Watch TV it is the Olympics

It is all too easy to sit and watch the television.
Bemoan that the money isn't coming in as fast as I would like.
People aren't returning my phone calls.
Emails go un answered. blah....blah....blah.

You know what? It is easier to blame somebody else for your current circumstance. So be it. Yet to get what you want you now have to say.

I've created this, I can dam as well create what I want to0.

When did I think people would just lie down and help me? Don't get me wrong. Some people have and are just being fantastic. The moral is I've got to be more stubborn and go get what I want.

Japan in October, isn't going to happen unless I book the flights and manifest the cash flow etc. Somethings are worth going after....trust me!

Dear Readers,

Can you do me a favour? Drop me a line and tell me, what you would like to see on this blog. I'll find something for you as a gift, that I'm certain will add massive value to your life.. Thanks

Passive Income - 1st Website - www.hypnosis-cds-madebyyou.com

All,

I've been quiet because I've been putting together my 1st passive income stream.

http://www.hypnosis-cds-madebyyou.com

The website shows hypnotherapists and others how they can create there own hypnosis recordings in less than 1 hour. You will receive multiple e-books and instructional videos.

Naturally it doesn't just have to apply to hypnotherapists, that was just my focus and sector for the idea.

Ever since I read The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss, I've been finding websites that have been able to help me towards my goals. If he and others can do it, so can I! Website 1 is up...now on to website 2...3....4.

Things I loved:

I've loved the product creation and ideas stage.
Creating Google Adword campaigns

Things I did not enjoy

Writing the text for the website. It needs much improvement...yet it is up.
Thinking about the design of the website. ie look and feel.

Things that didn't go according to plan.

I got turned down my original payment solution : Clickbank. I think I might be the only person ever to be turned down and I have no idea as to why.
I wasted hours and hours on the smaller details i.e. how will somebody contact me? email...form....database script. I spent ages and ages on that. Yet I charged through the bigger stuff.
I was very much of the thinking...it needs to be perfect...you know what. It doesn't! What needs to happen is that the project needs to get finished and on-line.
My market size is perhaps a little too small. Then again. This is the first website I've done completely. Now rinse and repeat.

I outsourced my website design because I don't know how to do it and it teaches me and I learn how to delegate and ask/write a brief for exactly what I want. Now I've done it once, I've such a better idea next time around.

Things I've learned :

  1. Somethings you think things aren't going your way and you struggle to do anything. In fact waste time doing everything and yet nothing.

  2. Document as you go along. Minor things... and Major Things. After all you want to go away and have somebody else run the shop whilst you are away.

  3. When you think of quitting...stop and think why you are doing this...

    1. You're adding value to other peoples lives.

    2. You on the road to your own goals.

    3. What will your ultimate outcome look, sound and feel like. I spent time just talking to myself and saying. I'm doing this because and then just talk about my goals.

  4. Very quickly I was jazzed up again and came back to the 'work'.

  5. Celebrate every step that you remember to...

    1. Opening up web hosting account

    2. Finishing 1st Video

    3. Finished 1st book

    4. Website going live

  6. I constantly asked myself...how can I add more value?

  7. It is OK to not be perfect. I spent too much time trying to get it perfect at not out there!!

  8. I seated over the minor stuff...Support Email system...script...ref number...email address

  9. If you think of something...ACT ON IT, then and there. Otherwise you forget about it, or move onto something else.

  10. People will tell you things that just don't fit with what you are doing...They'll try and stop you...Revisit why you're doing this and carry on!

  11. Market size matters, yet so does getting your first website on-line. I think if it is your 1st one...market size doesn't matter. What matters more is completing the project. What you learn is far more valuable.

To succeed I think you must

  1. Work, when everybody else is resting, wasting time watching television

  2. Have more than financial reasons for doing this. My other goals include so I can go and live with my girlfriend in Japan for 3 moths. Go to Berlin again and learn German for 3 months. Teach my children (which I don't yet have ) Money is a good thing and you really can do, be have have anything you want. My list goes on and on. It really gets me excited just thinking about all the reasons why I'm doing this and other projects.

The hardest parts are:

  1. Getting started

  2. Overcoming the doubts

  3. Continuing

  4. Finishing

What will I do differently?

  1. Ask more people for advice and help.

  2. Don't sweat the small stuff. Get one solution up and run with it. It may not be the best. Yet you have a base line, a starting point.

My advice to others would be :

  1. Look at/watch/listen to mentors. People you want to emulate. People who already have what you want.

  2. Get it all finished. Then improve what is on-line.

  3. Work when others are not. i.e. after work hours. The television isn't that important. Once you are financially free, you can watch all the television you. want!

  4. Ask for advice. When it is given act on it quickly.

  5. When you have an idea. Act on it there and then.

  6. Keep learning, yet apply what you are learning to. Read, hear and idea and implement it then and there.

  7. Have more reasons than just the financial for doing your project. Revisit them often. Yes, it does take time and effort. All the reason why you can't, shouldn't do it are exactly the reasons why you must do it.

  8. HAVE FUN

  9. Get Started!

Was I Mad?

Oh boy.

After making the statement of my goals. I then told somebody, that I actually knew. Normally this would be a close friend. Well, this time I told my partner. Gee Whizz. The emotion!. I felt great for telling them. Yet, putting down the very verbal and real marker of 'in February' I'll be back in Japan for at least 3 months. I don't think I've quite felt anything like it.

The math hit me..Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb..Not that long at all. Have I bitten off more than I can chew? Yes, I have doubts...yet it is really forcing me to work on my e-books and see what is what. The goal is Feb, yet, that now seems real close. Part of me thinks what if I don't make it over in Feb. You will be upset the most. It is a pretty bold statement and mark to say I'll be there in Feb. Not forgetting cashflow, immigration etc.

This morning I gently let it out to my folks I want to go back to Japan in Feb and for longer than 2 weeks. I don't think they think that it is real. For me there and perhaps my biggest issue will be regular cash flow. I want to avoid working in an office. The Japanese office culture is radically different to anything that I am use to. Once I'm in an office I'll miss out on the travelling and freedom which is one of the reasons why I want to go back.

Then I think this is all part of my bigger goal and goals. I'd have not brought this into my life if I was not going to learn something or many things from it. So I thus keep tapping away on my PC, looking at flight tickets. I'm focusing on the end result as much as I can. 3 months in Japan with the ability to work from anywhere, with plenty of money available to me.

Goals, Goals, Goals

All,

So here we go...Got to move fast...I've found that certainly for me. In the past, a way of getting things done is to tell somebody about it. Remember this post . Thus here we go. let's put it out to the ether. I've listed them in what I think is chronological order. Although perhaps not in list of importance. Still wondering how best to show or detail progress or next actions etc. Feel free to email me for friendly encouragement/hassling.

I've listed my goals with a completion date. You need an end date otherwise it isn't a goal, just a wish.

1.5 e-books on-line by Dec 24th 2007

2.Revise and pass exam for 1st Dec 2007

3.Move my many Domains to Google Apps certainly for SMTP email, since it is free - This allows for my mail to be sent from wherever I and my team are in the world.

4. Listen to my many more audio books - should I list specifics?

5. Travel to NY in Jan 2008

6. Be in Japan in Feb 2008 for 3 months.

Business Goal

To be able to work from anywhere in the world. Be the owner, my 'systems' do the work. Use Web Based tools if possible and as long as it makes sense, common and fiscal (£$) . There are some great tools out there, which ones will suit me and what I want to do? Certainly with the exchange rate as it is at the moment, web ($) is very attractive. Although long term?

Only work for four hours if that a week

Make money even whilst I am asleep.

Earn what I earn in a year a month.

Initial reaction

The one that scares me the most is mostly Japan for 3 months in Feb. I'll have left my job, therefore no 'stable' income ' in the short term. In a new country, new language, new culture...actually....how exciting is that!!!

The Next Step

All,

Post travelling I always think..mmm..I need more of this. Travelling or even just landing in another country is just brilliant to me.The planning, the excitement. My passport is full of stamps and visas. I love it. They each remind me of a time, place and people.

Whilst I was travelling recently, I remember sitting in one of my many aeroplanes and as I sat there thinking.. I thought God...I have the next X number of years to sit in an office, earn a pittance..oh how dull. There must be more to life than that. I posted recently that after reading Rich Dad's Prophecy . Be it true of not I have only 2 years potential before something 'big' may happen. I think the signs may be screaming at us all. Am I financially ready for it...Not by a long shot! Yet I could easily be.

Fear

Sat here in my office I realise that all my efforts are helping somebody else further their own goals..At least on the surface not my own. I noticed in Japan that many of the people were just working for a company ie somebody else and not themselves...(Salary men) Ouch. This has really begun to play on my mind. I'm slowly finishing my E-Books, yet, again not as fast as I would like...why? I actually think because I have a job. If I didn't have a job and it was really life threatening . I'd be working harder and faster, no? Everything comes down to importance and a mind set. I've just ordered myself a heap of books from Amazon to kick start myself and the proper formation of ME.PLC and build the systems that I know I can and maybe even must.

Some of the lack of 'work' on my goals is fear. What if it all goes wrong...or even what if it all works out? It is a balance sometimes as to what I'm focusing on. What will my friends think? Yet in all fairness, the only person I really have to satisfy is myself. I know if by next trip I'm no further down the line..I'll be cross with myself. Is actually what I'm working on something I really, really want? Maybe there is some apathy. I'm a great talker after all. Not always a great doer.

Insight

I know the following :

I can do it. I need to do it. I must do it.

I'm worth more than the next X number of years sitting in front of a PC at a desk..wishing and hoping. Yes, you get what you focus on...yet sometimes you also have to do as much as you can to help, further, draw your goals towards yourself. Are you doing all that you can, from where you currently sit to achieve your goals?

As far as my career is concerned and there are many other areas where you should have goals :

I want to work (Well, almost)...yet the ultimate goal is be the owner not the worker. So that I don't work, I play..I spend time with my family and friends in all corners of the globe.

Once I have my business set up, the goal is to have it run itself.

I want more travel and if I choose 1st Class and stay in the best hotels. = Web based control or view of work therefore I think.

Earn as much in a month as I currently do in a year. This should be passive income ie I get the money without being tied down to one location. (Question to Accountant - How can I get that as a wage without paying 40% tax or how to get more each month without waiting for a dividend

I've got more studying and revision to do and quickly.

On the bright side

I've found that because you desire or want something. Your mind and you only think of that because you have the potential to achieve that. Therefore all that you want you can achieve if you can think about it.

p.s I really wondered what I was going to write about today and in the future...I just started writing..Does it all make sense, is it coherent...should it actually have been multiple posts (rants) ? Anyhow, thanks for letting me just run with it!!

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses

Munich was brilliant...Japan is just a few hours away.

I've had such a 'busy' month it has been unbelievable. I've waited all year for a 'big' holiday and it is almost here. Yet I'm cross with myself.

A month ago I'd asked a friend of mine to phone me on the Friday just gone to check in to make sure that a 'major' project I'm doing was completed and running live. With being on holiday any holes in my automated system would show up. It would be the ideal time for a real time and live test.

My friend phoned me up and I started...I've not finished my project and I'm cross. The deadline had been playing on my mind. I've not reached it and my reasons (excuses) for not completing it were pitiful. They were in no particular the following :

I've been out every weekend this month - Munich, really good friend got married in a church. The wedding in this church is a once in a lifetime experience. This is one special church, not your average country village church. Then there was the stag doo... I just need a few hours ie Sunday to finish all the writing that I've wanted to do.

I've had assignments to finish. I wanted these finished before I went away on holiday. Therefore I could rest knowing that I've done them. These I've done, finished and handed in.

I'd come home from work and I'd be tired and not want to do any more 'work'.

I've just not had enough time.

Ouch

When I had to verbalise these to my friend. I got really cross with myself. There were/are actually really poor and pathetic reasons for not completing my project which in the long run could have a major impact on my life.. Yet at the time of 'putting off' the work, they all seemed very valid. I recently heard that if you want to get something off the ground you'll need to spend 5 hours a week on it. I don't know if this figure is true yet. That is one hour a day or thirty minutes in the morning and thirty minutes in the evening. Or twenty minutes here and there.

If my life really depended on me completing this project I'd have found the time and finished it.

I've recently been rereading Rich Dad's Prophecy . Whether it is true or not, surely being financial free due to your own passive incomes is better than working for somebody else? I've got two years if the dates are to be believed to be financial free. That is.was quite scary. Since at the moment, yes I've got cash, but no passive income...Even if the dates aren't true things are happening in the financial world that I'm not liking. I'd rather be in control of my financial outcomes and success rather than relying on the government. Some how I think relying on the government will cost me more if I continue to work for somebody else.

Learning

For me it is very simple.

1. Break down time into smaller chunks. There is more than enough time to complete all projects.

2. Do you want this to form part of your passive income stream...do you want to be an employee or the owner working on the beach?

3. Set another deadline and work to it. Now that I know that my excuses can easily be overcome...overcome them!

Do You Have Enough Room For More Money?

Many of us or at least I, say that one of our goals is to have more money. Yet, I was brought back to thinking if I already had it what would I be doing, thinking and feeling? Are my current actions in alignment with my belief of creating and having more money? I've had some really good things happy to me recently about creating more money and changing my mindset The most recent being getting a free parking ticket because I didn't have the right change for the parking machine and 2nd being given free money for doing nothing.

Free Space

Then I looked into my wallet to find so much junk paper and rubbish. I tend to keep receipts until I have entered them into my 'where does my money go spreadsheet'. I normally then shred the paper. It is amazing how quickly you amass new paper. Then it hit me again, If I believe I've got all this extra money in my life, which I do. I don't have space for it in my wallet. A quick clear out...Now I do.

The same principle can be applied to any goal. Do you have space for it? Are your actions and things you are doing and saying you have more than enough?

Example : New Clothes for wardrobe.

Does your current wardrobe have space for new clothes?

Recommended Actions

Throw some out! Give the clothes away. Get rid of anything you have not worn in the last year.

Then you'll soon have room and soon you'll buy or be given some new clothes because you have space and clothes tend to be important unless you want to be arrested.

Example : New partner in your life

Recommended Actions

Do you have space for somebody else where you currently live? Sleep on just one side of the bed. If you have a car, can your partner park theres next to yours. Can you cook a meal for two?

If you want a goal and don't know what you could do as a next action or how to create some space. Drop me a line. I'm sure I can figure something out. Every now and then it helps to get a new pair of eyes to look at something. A pair without all the tided in emotion.

I'll not be around much of the next 10 days or so as I'm off to the Oktoberfest in Munich , Germany and to catch up with some great friends.

Bang Goes the Dollar

Crikey,

This came to hit me full swing. It looks as though I'm finally going to move house...yippee about time. At the same time I'm going on holiday to Japan and Fiji. I can't wait.

Anyway, I've been all doom and gloom. I don't really or didn't actually really what to move. Why. I think in my head. I'll be on holiday and go well I can't do this or that because I'm about to shell out a load of cash on the new house...Ouch. There I have been for days, weeks realigning my beliefs about money. Thinking about money. What it is, what it means to me. There is more than enough etc. Then, Bang, this hits me square between the eyes. Thankfully...phew I'm the otherside...how?

I'm viewing it this way..it may not be the house that I want. It certainly is not the one I'm consciously visualising each day. Yet, it is a house. I'm moving to a totally new area where more affluent and prosperous people live. This fits in with my new beliefs about how much money I now earn. After all they say, people tend to move in the same financial circles..I'm changing my circle! I'm viewing this move as only temporary. I'm moving there so that I've fewer distractions. I'm surrounding myself with wealth, abundant and more prosperous people. I'll be in my new home to work in my free time on my few projects that I've going at the moment, as mentioned my ebooks etc.

Juggling House versus Holiday I've been in a there isn't enough money mindset. A scarcity frame of mind. Yet there is. How much of 40 million, trillion dollars do you want? Once I realised I was thinking this way and it took some time. I began to go. Thank You, you're testing me...do I really want the kind of wealth, prosperity and abundance I've been visualising, writing down daily? It took 24hrs to get back on track. Yet I think I'm pretty much there. Yes, money is going to go out when I'm on holiday and all the estate agent et al fees and website/business all at the same time. I've caused all of this. Yet,is it good for me to move? You bet. The money will come back to me. I've created much space for it. More and more people are coming to the blog site. More and more people are having one on one sessions with me. Who knows who I'll meet in my new location?

4HWW - A Believing Moment

Firstly, thanks to all you have been emailing me and filling in the form concerning my ebooks. All very much appreciated.

An aha moment. I was driving along going to work and listening to some stuff by Mike Dooley . He was giving his take on beliefs and changing them, taking on new ones. I've normally just concentrated on the inner workings of my mind. Changing the pictures, sounds etc. Not so much the actions of what I'm doing. Then it really hit me. Although I have been taking action, it doesn't mean it is action expecting my end goal.

House Hunting

I'm wanting my own house. For some reason in my mind. I'm thinking of a house that costs a certain amount of cash and has a number of bedroom and a kitchen of a certain type. As one of my actions I would search property websites. Yet I wouldn't narrow down my search to the exact criteria of what I want or expect. I'd look at all houses and flats. Therefore I'm going yes I want a flat or a house..yet actually, just give me a house or flat. Not an open plan flat with 3 bedrooms costing X and large tall windows that the sun shines through. In addition Mike mentioned about doing actions that you would do once you would have manifested or got the goal. I've know this as the As If Frame..yet it had never really sunk in.I.E. for my house, let's go to the area, catch up with a friend, have a cheeky pint in a bar in the area that I want to live in. Again, I'm building up expectation of having the end result.

This makes taking a next action step much easier..

A Hop Skip and A Jump

1. What things would you do once you have achieved your goal?

2. What actions would you do to plan or prepare for you end goal?

ProAction

What actions did I take this morning?

I restructured my property web search criteria.

I've written the paying in slip for a large amount of money that I'll very soon be putting into my bank account.

I've emailed a friend of mine so, that we can catch up for a drink in the area that I want to live in this weekend.

I've emailed a magazine editor asking for guidelines on article submission.

I've written the email telling people I've moved to my new flat.

I've set up an account with iammoving.com and gone through the list so that as soon as I know the complete address. They'll notify all my account holding companies to alter my mailing address.

Tonight I go over my vision board and with each of my goals and creating next action/as if steps. What will I do once I've achieved my goal? What things will I be doing and or saying? If you can't take some action, there must be some planning that you can do. As an example I'm soon to be travelling again. Yet, where do I want to stay? Which is the best language school in the towns and countries that I'm going to visit next year.

Therefore what is your goal? If you know it is going happen and it will! What things would you do if you already had it? Go on. Take a step. Even something small and simple. Everything is possible. Dare to think differently.

4HWW - Bish, Bash, Bosh...Belief

Last night I was training for my up coming sport's season. I play hockey, field hockey. It is huge in Europe. This year I'm playing in a new position. I get the opportunity to openly score goals and play up front. Anyway after the game I really noticed how I was talking to others.I was so up beat and positive. Some how, shape or form. I've taken on a whole new belief system...just like that. I did notice I was playing in my mind a certain skill that I know I've wanted to master for ages..yet I know I'm going to score some of my best goals that way this year.

It got me thinking ..how come everything in that one instance, split second is in total alignment and bang, my belief therefore my end result will come into actuality? I can't wait for the end of season and goal tally. Yet for some of my other goals..the belief or strength of belief isn't quite there. I know the results will happen soon, yet I do not totally feel it. Yet I know I'm going to end up with 20 goals this season. A whole 20 more than last year. I normally play at the back and defend. Now I attack and score.

It does remind me of a question I posed earlier : if a phobia can be caused in a split second, why can't positive beliefs happen the same way? I guess they can! Therefore the higher level question is how do I replicate it and quickly to get my other goal beliefs up to speed and in no doubt that they will occur? Therefore I need to start believing I can find that answer and soon. I'll share when I do. How much do I like playing with an enhancing beliefs quickly and easily?

4HWW - News = Beliefs You Must Think The Opposite Of

I just caught a little news this morning...ugh.. The main reason I am finding not to listen to the news if nothing else is quite simply. This is one of the easiest ways for you not to take on the beliefs of what society thinks is possible or correct. I heard a 'stocks and shares' expect say

Over the next 4 months things are going to be really tough. Given the number of people that watch this morning show, GMTV... (5,000,000)how many will have a financially difficult next 4 months? He was referring to interest rates, prices of X,Y,Z. Mortgages etc. Soon people will start coming down with flu and colds because we are told it is the flu season. Yet, if you jump on a plane and go to Australia..no flu, yet same month of year.

Therefore. If the majority of people are believing the above. Of course they will struggle. Thus, think the opposite and you'll get the opposite results. Yet how do you do that? Dare to think differently.

I've just reread my last post and there is something I just noticed. If I've written this what was I thinking of?

we are all infallible to new systems and ways of working. I'm not filling my void.

Who Wants The Best Cinema In The World?

We all posses the greatest results mechanism in the world...Us! Yes, that thing that daydreams on a daily basis, sends us off to far places. This is how to begin getting what you want.

See the END result. By that I mean. Imagine you have the best cinema screen inside your head. You are sitting in the most comfortable chair, eating pop corn etc. You see yourself on the large cinema screen doing, getting, having exactly what you want. The END result. I find it helps if you See the Result, Feel the Result, Hear the Result.

An Example

Supposing you want a house..I already have my car!

See yourself standing in the house? See - What is the flooring made of? .What colour are the walls? How big are the windows? What about the dining room. How many chairs? Is there anybody else there with you? Are you throwing a dinner party. What is the food you are eating? How big is your smile?

Feel - What does it feel like to have this house? If you want you can step into yourself and really get the feelings. I do this and then step out of my self and see myself again. What does it feel like to watch television, on that top of the range flat screen television? What does it feel like when you open the door and your mate is there and you feel great, because you are about to show him your house? What does super happiness feel like?

Audio - What does the music sound like from your top of the range sound system that you have installed? What is that sound coming from the perfect roast you have just lifted from your oven? What about the laughter from yourself and friends?

Me A Supercharger - It Is A 3 Way Thing

I have found the following really useful. Once or twice a day go over the above imagery of the end result of your goal.

Get some paper, some photographs, pictures of the end result. Put them all together. Hang the poster up somewhere you will see it everyday. Even on holidays. - Feel as you make it and gather the pictures, you should get really excited doing this. Hell you don't need a poster a diary works just as well, as does PC wallpaper. Some of you may know this as vision board.

Write about your goal as if you have already achieved it. Write it with a date and in the present tense i.e. I have... I feel.. I am.

Not only are you getting excited about what you want, you'll be doing multiple things in all you senses to achieve your goals. In the peripheral vision your mind will see what you want and work out ways for you to get what you want.

Where Is My Goal?

If your goal hasn't come about just yet. I find the following has helped me. Is the end result something that I really want? Not, friends, family..ME If yes..

It is on its way. You are just being tested as it is just around the corner waiting for you. Do you really want the goal?

Do you feel good when thinking about your end results? If so you are on the right track to getting what you want.

If the above seems like to much work....welcome to boredom and not getting what you want. It just isn't that important to you.

4HWW - Motivational Medicine.

So here I find myself sat in my current office and day job bored and with 'nothing' to do. Yet in reality I've got much I could be doing towards MY goals, dreamlining targets etc. and yet I seem to have stalled. Lost/lack motivation. So I type this little ditty, since last time I was lacking motivation, I actually found writing for my blog was a great motivational cure. I'm hoping for the same this time around. I'm sure I've plenty I could be doing. Yet none I want to be doing. I've noticed my random website surfing has taken on a new lease of life today as has checking my personal emails more than twice a day. In some regards I think this is a good thing as it shows we are all infallible to new systems and ways of working. I'm not filling my void.

It has got me thinking about doing some form action everyday or every few days towards my goals. In the beginning of dreamlining, you have to state and do three actions over the next 48 hours. I've noticed with my previous goals that I have attained. Action towards what I've wanted has happened little and often.

Burning into Action

If my work building blew up and I had 10 days to get things going for me.PLC. Would I not kick things into action? Why is it that when you're not being pushed to complete and finish something that in actual fact will give you great pleasure and a new back account (TMI). Why do you just sit and procrastinate? Do the people in the office realise I'm doing very little?

You Can Be, Do and Have Anything - Facing the Fear

Having said that as part of my new and wanting working life style. I'm playing with ideas from the Secret, visualisation the end result and hearing what I am saying to myself. One of my goals is to work only 4 hours a week if that....lol and behold I think that is where I am already at! If not, pretty close. Although when I thought about working just 4 hours a week, I didn't necessarily realise it would be at my current place of work. I was more hoping (there is the killer word..hope, not expect!) to be on a beach..

So what do to next? What 3-6 things can I do next to achieve my dreamline target?

I now have back the magazine details for areas of interest to me. Here I stall. I think the ideas that I'm coming up with aren't actually that exciting and I don't know the details of how to create X,Y and Z product. Having said that, I don't know if people would want them. I've not tested the market. I was being put off by my own thoughts. I've been playing with my thoughts over the weekend.

Therefore I ask you

Do you know anybody who records, produces spoken word CDs?

Change my end result for my image of 4 hours work week. Hello Fiji Beach!.

As I write I've just thought of a very quick and easy way to achieve 'expert' status in one of my chosen fields...Oh this blogging is rather therapeutic.

4HWW - Batching, Faxing and Asking For Advice

In learning the 4HWW process I'm applying as many of the principles that I can apart from outsourcing at the moment to my current work situation.

I've already batched my personal email. I am attempting to cut down on my frivolous web surfing. I've begun to take note of what I do, daily, weekly and monthly. To note I use pen/paper/notepad. I also have running a utility called TimeSnapper. I'm running this to see how much time I spend in applications etc. I'm wanting to batch more.

For as long as I can remember I've said, PCs are there to help. Automate, automate, automate. I'm not a programmer! Nevertheless I'm attempting to automate as much as possible. Yes, I know I could outsource it all. Yet, I'm working on the principle of learning what each task I do entails and how. If anybody knows of a good way i.e. diagraming quickly all the steps to complete a task, please let me know.

We have a help desk call logging system here at work. I'm sure it could be be automated or streamlined even more. I just can't picture the whole process and how to note it all down. After all, I want to go to my boss... I propose I suggest. I've asked my developers to add things to aid my reporting. What would take me maybe a few hours when I did it the first time, now take me 15 minutes if that. In addition, I've documented it so somebody else could do it. I think this is crucial. What if I'm not here etc? It is all so good preparation for a good on-line FAQ.

I'm creating templates for email subjects/topics that I seem to often send out. I'm looking through old calls to see if there are some common commonalities to them. For example do people ask for the same advice. Can many problems be resolved in a 1,2,3 step process. Can I produce an internal FAQ?

Asking For Help

Some of my clients are very successful 1-2 man bands who travel all over the world. In fact they seem to spend more time flying in the air than time on the ground. They haven't outsourced much if at all. When I've been on the phone to them. I've been asking who do they use for X, Y, Z. Any company recommendations etc. They are doing what I want to do i.e. travel and work...although less of the work.. So it makes sense to ask them. One such was for a fax to email provider. Obviously you don't want fax orders, unless you get somebody else to monitor and act upon them. Yet some communication may come about due to and with a fax. Banks etc. Therefore it helps to have a fax to email provider. Maybe a mail fulfilment house will also offer such a service?

My current company doesn't want to take up such a solution Instead I implemented blat to monitor our fax folder, which I was monitoring maybe 1-3 times a day. Now blat monitors the folder and emails an email account which I just monitor once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Now if we could all just agree on a fax template and I could then remove the junk faxes too.

Semi Outsource - Niche Finding.

I thought about outsourcing finding details of magazines in areas of my interests to narrow down my niche area. There is a website. Writers Market . Yet I understand this to be US centric. I thought about my first task for outsourcing to be create an account and get marketing rates and back issues sent to me. I think I'll still do this. I'll be having a fulfilment house there as well as in Europe. I was talking to somebody and mentioning this, I need something for the UK. They said there 'press department' has such a database. Let me know what you want and I'll get them to send on the details. So I produced my 1st Outsourcing email...happy days and for free. There is a 3 week waiting list for outsourcing on many that Tim recommended in his book. Although I'm liking YouManInIndia since they do more than business outscourcing. I'm thinking birthday flowers to Japan?

4HWW - Money

Oh how I am beginning to love this subject. I am really getting into thinking about money, what it is and what it actually means to me. How to generate more. I seem to be hearing and picking up people's beliefs about money really easily at the moment. As I've said before if you just take what they say as fact, whether it is or is not. Isn't that how things turn out for people?

I've recently had another shift in my beliefs about the green, blue and red stuff thanks to Stuart Wilde's book. I was out and about over the weekend and I heard the following:

My quick research to begin your "shifting" about money is in red

There isn't enough

As a rough estimate the US has $7 trillion, the World bank more than $40 trillion - how much would you like?

Some people are smarter than others

Yes, maybe according to school standards and grades. Many of the super wealthy didn't finish school or university. Once you start working. You soon realise for many a job...your grades are useless. The sooner school teachers realise this the better.

There is scarcity

Same answer as the 1st point. If you think that, what are you focusing on???

There is not enough to go around.

Yes, much of the wealth is within less than 1% of a given population...yet how much money do you really want? Money after all is just energy, that is around you all the time. You use your credit card to book something on line. You don't see the money yet, it still get deducted from your account. Therefore if you think there is more than enough to go around, you can attract more into your account too.

Working for yourself to me means financial anxiety.

Ouch...if you think that, why go into business for yourself? There are many a self made millionaire. Tim Ferriss isn't doing too badly I bet.

For me I was just really pleased that I baulked at these and went phew..I think of something else, that is totally different. Yet I use to think of those and more. I know every now and then I have a doubt. Like when I'm looking at hotel prices in Tokyo. Yet, thankfully I seem to be able to pull myself up and out of that and into something that is far more financially positive. It did leave me wondering, don't people realise what they are saying. I know sometimes in my own experience that I don't . Then I do get an aha moment and I realise what I am saying. Although I don't always know how to change it..working on that. After all, if a phobia can be caused in a one time, split second event, why can't positive beliefs be got, held on to and lived? It's not important enough?

4HWW - Emailing USB Helps On The Run

As part of the 4HWW elimination strategy. It is recommended that you check your email twice a day. As soon as I began reading about this on the web. I started doing it. The first thing I did was to remove my personal email accounts I had set up within my office email clients. I use both Lotus Notes and Outlook. Then I thought about what to do next. I've multiple email accounts: ISP, bought domains, various Internet web mail facilities. They all 'serve' a purpose, mostly email testing.

The Other Side

It has taken me a long time to move to the firefox web browser. I didn't see the point. MS, whether you like it or not, in some form or another provide many IT types with a direct or indirect income. I wasn't about to join the I hate MS club, just to appear cool. Here in my office, they adore firefox. I do now. If nothing else the extensions and the biggest plus it is portable ie carry it on a USB stick! Thus much smaller and lighter than a laptop. This makes it an ideal remote company owner's tool.

Have Email Will Run

I thought I'd give their email client another go too. This again I can add to my USB stick and take it with me where every I go. When travelling, I didn't find one Internet cafe, that didn't let you plug in all manner of camera, memory stick or other device. Yes, there are times when you'll want your laptop, but the USB stick is a great way forward. Check out PortableApps.com . There are many other utilities that you can add to your usb stick. Not least an SMTP service. I now don't have to worry about whose internet line I am using, I can send emails from 'my' SMTP server. Touch wood, I seem to still be able to email everybody. Nobody seems to be blocking me. Ultimate test with be Japan in Oct I guess.

Thunderbird, now collates all my personal email accounts into one. It has a built in SPAM filter, which gets better the more you train it. I've seen various solutions that Tim suggests, which I may investigate in time. At present I'm just not getting, that many emails let alone SPAM (fingers-crossed). Having said that the biggest advantage is you can unplug your usb stick from your PC. Therefore, forcing yourself to look only twice a day if that. The calendar still needs work..yet. I'm looking at other tools for a 'calendar' function. A big help has been the following site : lifehacker . They seem to have some very productive people on their site. Many small business/workers who work from home or remotely. There are great at finding tools and getting the most from firefox, thunderbird et al. to help you work remotely and productively.

But, I've Work Email Too

Well, I've set up a reminder as recommended, Are you being productive. Although sometimes I just laugh and go, not being productive at the moment. I've not set up a reminder or out of office agent to run, saying I'm not checking email twice a day. I just do it. If you don't answer you work email straight away, it seems to me people think you're in a meeting or something anyway. Oh and on the plus side, I use predominately Lotus Notes as my work email client, which just happens to be portable too!.If you're getting so many emails that you need to keep checking it all the time. You need to stop. What is really important? Or think of it this way. When you're away on holiday, the office still functions doesn't it. Ergo, most email isn't that crucial.

Other Low Information Stuff

I just ended up unplugging the television...problems solved. Therefore it is now harder to just flick it on.. Once you start travelling, you quickly forget about television and the news as much isn't appropriate for you anyway as you're a traveller. I still listen to audio books. I did when I was travelling the last time. In addition, it is a productive way to use my car journey into work. I now read fiction before I go to bed. Although if I wake up early. I'm still struggling with not turning on the laptop to randomly web surf. Getting better though.

Thankfully meetings don't happen too often and when they do, they are so dull..So here is to ending meetings. I also now only answer my own personal phone twice a day. I've changed my voice mail message. The only people to kick up a fuss...my parents. I just told them it was all about being productive at work. They seem to accept this. I'm still looking for other tasks to batch. That I don't do already.

Web Surfing News.

To curtail my random web surfing. I've found two firefox extension.WebStats . This just tells you where you're web surfing and how much time you are spending. In addition I use leechblock . This blocks websites for you, based on time of day. There are others. They just work for me. I can spend time just randomly web surfing, which is a big No, No to getting things done. These two just help me curtail it a little more.
