Review - Bob Proctor - The Science of Getting Rich

This program is made up of several CDs and a workbook. Although the CDs reference cassettes. So I assume, the material has just been transferred over from one medium to another.

This, for me, is the excellent follow up and much needed study guide to Wallace Wattles - The Science of Getting Rich book. It fills in the gaps that I found missing in the book itself. Or now perhaps I should say, just missed...widely

Bob is enthused by this little book (SOGR). I got the impression from listening to him, that he is as excited and as passionate about this little book as much today as the first time he was introduced to it and read it.

Bob, reads the book, SOGR, to you and with you. He comments on nearly each line, certainly each paragraph. He asks many questions of you and about the text.

There are further questions that you must answer within his accompanying guide.

Whilst following along with him. I finally began to 'get' the book. I now am beginning to understand, why so many people like this book. If you want to get the most out of SOGR. This guide is great. Bob is going to expect you to do quite a lot of 'work'. No, work is perhaps the wrong word. Play, investigation, reflection and listening are better. The 1st CD alone, he wants you to listen to 6 times. Bob quotes somebody else, by saying each time you listen or read the same book. You discover something new within yourself. This happened to me numerous times listen to the first CD and going over the book. I've heard 'these' things before. Yet they struck accord with me this time.

You will answer many questions. Your answers will vary each time you go over the book, hear him and ponder what he asks of you.

Yet, as he states in his introduction. Each time you read or hear something, you learn or are open to hearing and learning something new. You discover something about yourself.

I think this is why many of us read the same type of book over and over again. We are wanting to hear that piece, that sentence, that explanation that makes all of the information we know 'click' into place.

I never knew or understood even how powerful page one of SOGR was, until now. Somehow even that first page is now a masterpiece.

Isn't it funny how every leader, guru or teacher seems to says, "I read every book, attended every seminar, so yo don't have to". Yet, I think most of us do, because we're wanting the one explanation that makes sense to us. I'm sure most of us could write our own books on these subjects, yet for whatever reason we don't. We don't even follow the advice given. I think because, we think we know better. Yet, we don't. Otherwise we'd be where we would want to be!

This is not a one time listening program. Neither now is the book, The Science of Getting Rich. Thanks to Bob's guidance, this may very well have to go on my yearly to read list. The CDs and workbook will take time, yet I think it is time well spent.

SOGR is so small, it could be missed by many, including myself. Yet, now I think it will sit by my bed so that I read a chapter before I go to sleep, so I can further understand this classic.

My experience was, Bob wil ask you to listen to certain CDs and sections again and again. At first even I went urgh! Then again, isn't that what most of us do nearly all the time? We don't follow instructions to the letter. Then we wonder why we get the same results. Thus, under duress. I carried on listening to the first CD before I didn't anything else.

You have more power and potential within you than any current circumstance or event. You can earn a 7 figure income with just one change in thought

I read the little book and I was struck when answering the follow up questions. One question is "in which department or your life: body, mind, or soul do you feel greatest lack?"

When I heard this the 1st time I thought life. Yet on reading what makes up each 'department'. I realised that actually according it Wallace's criteria I'm missing some of his ideas that make a full mind. Yet in all 3 areas I'm missing some key compenents. Some days each department appears full. On other days, certain departments are completly empty.

These and other insights I think you get from going over and over the text and follow up questions. Despiste the temptation, don't do it!. Do as you are asked. Then move on.

A point that did strick me was. Wallace states that if you follow things in a certain way, you'll get like results. Ok...that I understand. Then he says, you don't get rich by saving and being thrifty. You begin to wonder why we are heavily taught to save by our banks, financial institutions and governement. Is it perhaps for every dollar, pound, yen you save. They can reuse it 8 times? It makes you wonder. Then again, your bank will tell your house is an asset. Your house is only an asset to the bank, not to you. Ergo, if they tell you to save, who is it really good for?

Don't get me wrong, I do save, in an 'opportunity fund'. You should have ready cash on hand for when it is needed. Yet, I do wonder. If you follow the 'herd', will you then not get 'herd' results?

Again, it comes back to doing things in a certain way. Would I suppose we have been taught or learnt to do it the wrong way. Thus, it keeps us where we are?

Review - Wallace Wattles - The Science of Getting Rich

Becoming Rich is an exact science according to this book. It is a very small and compact book. You can read it over a weekend if not within a few hours. It is regarded by many as a classic in the field of wealth creation and prosperity mindset. This is the book that started The Secret.

It stipulates that if you do things in a certain order and way, you can become nothing but rich. Several questions pop into my head:

  1. Why do we not know the order?
  2. Why are we not taught the order?
  3. Why do we not follow the order?

The book is a collection of chapters. Each chapter details a principle that you must use and follow with unerring faith. If you do you will be come rich. I would have liked the book to have more formal structure i.e.

Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
= Result you want.

I felt whilst reading, Wallace was eluding to something: a power, a system or something more than he was letting on to. Or he was leaving something out of the book. Things seemed to me to be inferred yet not referenced directly.

I wonder why?

I am pretty certain, if you can read through the lines, this is an awe inspiring book, worthy of further investigation and study. Yet, for me it was just another book about you and your wealth potential. There was something missing. Yet, I don't know what.

Review - Charles Fillmore - Prosperity

It's not often I read a book and go wow. In fact I can't remember the last time I did that.

This little book, is quite frankly...excellent. For me it was a real eye opener. Growing up I spent five years at a Cathedral School here in the UK. Thus religious overtones and teachings were everywhere. I don't remember being taught anything about money, wealth and prosperity. In fact I don't remember being lambastered about sinners either. Yet I'm sure like much religious teaching it is all done subtley.

I liked this book because things I know and have heard constantly were given a very different and prosperous slant. Serveral things came to me and were given a reframe whilst reading the book. The final chapter on the fear and power of money was worth paying for the book alone.

The book details ideas about God as your true source of prosperity. Naturally the bible is quoted heavily. Yet, it asked the reader to look beyond the words and at the 'true' meaning of the sentance or phrase. This to me, is the real magic of the book. I think it will make you question much of what you have heard and think you know about your own religious teachings.

I'm really into EFT at the moment as a way of releasing my negative beliefs and emotions. I had a huge experience of letting go of a negative belief. What really surprised me was, although the belief itself was perhaps small in 'release power'. I was holding on to the belief for dear life. That really, really surprised me. I just didn't know. I went around the rest of the day in sheer bliss. How many more beliefs do I have like that?

The end of the book is filled with questions about the chapters you have read to further facilitate your learning and understands of the material presented.

It now makes me want to read the Millionaires of the Bible Series by Catherine Ponder. I wonder what she'll point out to me.

Charles' book, I think is worth reading again and maybe even again. Maybe it will go on my 'to be read yearly list'. I just wish an audio version was available. You can get a hardcopy version at Amazon or it is availble on line for free at ForgottenBooks.org .

Review - Abraham Hickks - The Astonishing Power of Emotions: Let Your Feelings Be Your Guide

The 3rd book in the series. According to them, it is their most powerful.

The format now is becoming very familiar. A short introduction. Then Jerry reads the answers that have been provided by Abraham through Ester.

Much of the book is about working out where you are in relation to what you want in terms of vibrations or feelings. The concept of upstream and downstream is excellent. A great analogy, that makes the whole 'law of attraction' concept easy to grasp and understand.

Jerry spends lots of time, talking you through various scenarios, where you might be (upstream) and how you can begin to think going to downstream towards what you want easily and effortlessly.

The final piece is of a recorded seminar. I think often, this is where the real meat is and worth the wait.

The concept of vibrational alignment was made to sound very simple indeed. I'm sure it is, if you're going downstream. Nothing what you want is upstream (negative feelings), yet we all spend much of our time going upstream. So the obvious question is how can I make it easy, turn around and go downstream. That I didn't really hear, except for the phrase. I am where I am and that is enough. I've just got to feel 'relief' more.

The next question is what next? After these three books, what comes after them?

Review - The Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes

A steal at just under $5 from learnoutloud.com. I listened to the audio version. It lasts over 9 hours. If you prefer a hard copy grab it from Amazon.

This book comes with a great pedigree.

The Science of the Mind was originally published in 1926 by the founder of the worldwide Religious Science movement. It was completely revised in 1938 by Ernest Holmes and Maude Allison Latham; this 1997 edition is the 1938 version with an added introduction by Jean Houston and a one-year study program that breaks the weighty tome into digestible bits. Using creative techniques, Holmes guides the student in easy-to-follow steps toward mastering the powers of the mind to find purpose in life. His explanations of how to pray and meditate, heal oneself spiritually, find self confidence, and express love have helped millions change their lives for the better.

For me, the audio seemed to just go on and on and on. Perhaps despite my keeness. Now was not the time to listen to it. So many other things were going on during that week. Maybe that was it. It just didn't gel for me. Yet the reviewers on Amazon nearly all seem to love it.

Summed up, it is saying you create your own reality. Yet for $5. It's a great addition, worthy of a second visit, some time in the future.

Review - Claude M Bristol - The Magic Of Believing

Saturday afternoon, I had an hour to kill (interesting visual!). I ended up walking for an hour and listening to Claude M Bristol's - The Magic Of Believing. This comes with a pretty good reputation.

To me, it was alright. Nothing outstanding. It is pretty old. Perhaps because of its age, it is a little staid and dry for me.

Perhaps this set the bench mark for books that are more recent. I'm sure there was one of two lines that struck a cord with me..yet..

I've not much more to add or can't remember much...enough said really.

Review - Lee Pulos - The Power of Visualisation

I listened to the abridged version of this audio/book program.

I'm sure that if you've not spent much time visualising or reading up on such things. This wouldn't be a bad introduction. It is only an hour or so long.

I was however expecting so much more.

I think a better title would have been How To Visualize.

There were numerous techniques to help you visualize and improve your visualization skills.

It could have been called How to Image Steam. Much time was spent detailing how to visualize and image stream. The garden visualization is excellent. However if you want that and more detail on the potential of Image Streaming. Pick up the book, The Einstein Factor by Win Wenger. After all he is the creator of Image Streaming.

Thankfully there were some examples of the potential power of visualization and what potentially you could achieve using the technique. The final guided imagery exercise was excellent too. It was using your Image Stream garden that you create earlier in the recording and then meeting up with you wise sage.

I may do that exercise again. Then again, I'd like to have the induction of Wendi Friensen and the questions of Lee Pulos. That I think may be the ultimate "Meet Your Sage Induction". Do you have any recommendations for other MYS inductions?

There is a much longer course, which maybe offers more. Yet for me I'll stick with The Einstein Factor et al for now.

Review - Randy Gage - Crafting Your Vision

This is a collection of 1hr talks by a variety of people on the subject of vision. By listening to the talks you'll learn what a vision is and is not. How to create and manifest your own vision, maybe even your life purpose.

I thought some talks are better than others. Some speakers are even mentioned by other speakers. Thus there are some speakers on vision who really understand what a vision is and how to create it.

It gave me some people to further research, to enlarge and grow my own already successful vision. I've also learnt a few techniques that will further enhance the coming about of my vision. Some of the talks were very motivating. Some talks seemed to be rehashes of other talks.

Actually how to create and grow your own vision, didn't seem very different once you had heard the process and ideas once. Yet, some of the speakers I think really understood and felt the power of crafting, reading and going over their own vision daily. Or they just explained it with words, phrases and stories that really struck accord with me. This recording is worth listening to if you want a pep talk about vision. Some mentioned the book as a man thinketh, yet I didn't hear the one line that really stood out for me in that book

YOUR VISION IS THE PROMISE OF WHAT YOU SHALL ONE DAY BE

Be warned there is much talk use of the words uplines and downlines etc. This, I understand comes from the world of Network Marketing and MLM which Randy Gage is king at. That is how he got all these speakers to talk. They are also in this field.

I really liked listening to Richard Brooke and Lisa Jimenez especially. Randy's talk was good too. I thought I knew much of his story and life, no I didn't.

The audio is going out of production very soon, so if you want to, grab it. Now is your chance. It is a shame you can't download the tracks individually and listen to them as and when you want.

The most expensive thing is the cost of not having a dream.
