4HWW - Overcome Your Fear of Flying

All.

As my journey into the 4 Hour Work Week continues. Another website on the go.

Stop for a moment and think about it. You like the idea of the four hour work week, you want to take some mini retirments, yet you don't like to fly!! I love to fly, yet I've found the below website that will help you if you don't.

The answer. It is here at overcomeflyingfear.com .

You have a fear of flying, yet don't want to admit it. It stops you in your tracks before you have even taken your first mini retirment. I'll let you into a secret. The fear doesn't come from anywhere else but you. As you think about your fear of flying, you're most likely not sat at the airport right? Yet, your heart is beginning to race, your hands might be starting to sweat. You're tensing up, your gripping the chair your sat in etc. Yet you're not near the airport or plane. In fact how often has not being comfortable about flying stopped you from doing something or getting something. A job promotion, a trip to the world cup?

The fear is all in your mind. Therefore so is the solution! You have to begin retraining your mind and brain to begin to think differently. One of the things I like about the this, is you don't have to say I suffer from or I have a fear of. I know if you're like me and  don't like something it isn't something you talk about. You think about it and then try and ignore it.

The resolution is quick, easy and safe. You can do it in your own home. It uses the change technologies of hypnosis and neuro lingusitic program among others.  Once you easily master this skill just imagine the quamtum leap you can take in your mini retirements. Fiji is nice this time of year or maybe you just want to visit family and friends on the other side of the country.

SMART Goals - Part 2

All,

M Stands for Meaning and Measurable.

Meaningful

Basically when you write out a goal it must be meaningful to YOU. Not what your friends or family want you to do to or achieve. It must be for you. The easiest way I've found to find if it is really meaningful to me is to begin thinking and describing the goal in as much detail as I can possibly think of at that moment. If I don't get myself so excited that I want to rush out and do something towards that goal or go and tell somebody else (don't!) I know it is not something that is meaningful to me.

I've said don't actually go and tell somebody about your goal because more often than not the person you tell will not fully understand why you are doing and wanting that goal and will without realising it do all they can to stop you from achieving what you want.

It must be meaningful to me because if I come across some resistance or block - and you will. I know that I will not accept and realise I have some resistance to achieving my goal. I will then most likely stop myself from going forward.

Measurable

This simply means - how will you know when you have achieved your goal? What will you see here and feel? This should be the finally step. What is the final thing that will have to happen so that you know you have successfully achieved your goal?

Goal : Holiday in Japan this October 2008

Is this goal meaningful to me. You bet! I've bought guide books, tapes, been before and loved it. I've got some great people out there who I want to see again very soon. I think about Japan often.

What are my possible final end step:
  1. Buying the flight ticket.
  2. Begin sat on the plane.
  3. Walking through the arrivals gate to a see to see of smiling faces.
  4. Passport filled with the immigration stamp.
  5. Being sat down in a restaurant in Shibuya having dinner.

SMART Goals - Part 1

All,

I'm from the school of thought that writes out your goals in the S.M.A.R.T format

I've been thinking over this recently and wondering why some of my goals happen and others don't. I thought I'd share my thoughts and (re)discoveries about the process. I hope you all agree that to accomplish any goal you must first write it down.

S stands for Simple and Specific.

I've learnt it must be very, very specific. What I think as very, very specific, may not always be very, very specific. All goals are achieved first in your mind. Then they appear in you reality. Your mind or more specifically your unconscious mind is about the age of a 5-7 year old child.

When thinking of your goal. If you can or have a child give them your goal and then ask them to think what does it mean to them. Is what they tell and describe to you the same as what you hold in your mind? I'm pretty certain that it will not be.

For example.

Goal : I want a new or like new car.
err...which car?

Goal : I want a new BMW
err...which make of BMW?

Goal I want a new BMW 1 Series Convertible.
err..what colour (inside and outside etc)

Do you get where I'm going?

I think you should write down your goal as specifically as you can. Then read over them at least once a day. If you want like carry around a pockmod 'goal card', with a reminder a reminder phrase I now have a BMW 1 Series Convertible. N.B it is written in the present tense!

Yet your mind knows that it will be silver with black leather interior, Sony Soundsystem, 20" wheels etc. The more detailed you are in your description of your goal, the more direction you and your unconscious mind has and actually finding and achieving your goal becomes so much easier. Remember, you goal isn't set in stone. You can always change, alter or even drop it if you want.

Finally find a picture that represents as closely as possible that goal and put it somewhere i.e on a vision board. Time to take a trip to the car dealership and get a photograph taken with you in the car!

New Website - I Have A New Website

All,

I have a new website up and running. This is a new venture for me and I begin to expand my 4 Hour Work Week Empire.

http://www.ihavejointpain.com

It is a website set up to help other people who suffer from and are looking for information on joint pain. There is the potential for lots of expansion as joint pain is quite generic, you can zero in on many different types of pain. Thumb, knee. Anywhere you have a joint

Please let me know what you think.

Reframe : Finite or INFinite

All,

According to Google the word infinite means

Definitions of infinite on the Web:

    * having no limits or boundaries in time or space or extent or magnitude; "the infinite ingenuity of man"; "infinite wealth"
    * of verbs; having neither person nor number nor mood (as a participle or gerund or infinitive); "infinite verb form"
    * countless: too numerous to be counted; "incalculable riches"; "countless hours"; "an infinite number of reasons"; "innumerable difficulties"; "the multitudinous seas"; "myriad stars"; "untold thousands"
    * space: the unlimited expanse in which everything is located; "they tested his ability to locate objects in space"; "the boundless regions of the infinite"
    * total and all-embracing; "God's infinite wisdom"

Finite is the opposite of the above.

The last few days I've been thinking. For many areas of our lives the only way we can change things that we think are finite is to change...Where? What. The word infinite gives us a massive clue

IN - or more specifically. Within you and me.

Therefore, if we change our IN. Things become infinite. The only thing that places boundaries or limits on things is US.  Thus, change our IN for things to become INFINITE.

Free Software - Let's Get Motivated

Hi

I just found this website that will let you have motivational software for free!

It is called the Motivator.

I don't know about you, but I need some help sometimes to change a habit. If like me you tend to spend much time in front of a pc screen. Your mind can wander.

This excellent and small piece of software, flashes, very quick short messages on your pc screen. The messages are flashed on your screen so quickly, that you can't see them, yet your eye actually can.

This free, yes FREE software, just sits and runs in the background on your laptop.

Do You Second Guess Yourself?

All,

I've noticed I often second guess myself . I'll come to a crossroads and my intuition, my initial thought is GO RIGHT. Naturally I go no and go left. It really came home to roost this week, when I passed a garage and thought I need to fuel up my car. Then I thought, but the garage is the other side of the road. I'll fill up later.

Later came, as I was driving and pulled onto the motorway. The fuel light lit up like a Christmas tree. A quick tap on TomTom and I was able to find a garage to refuel at.

This got me thinking, how often do I think of an idea or come to a 'crossroads' and go against my initial thought?

For this week at least if I have an idea to do something I act on it as quickly as possible. The action I feel has to be taken as quickly as possible because either I'll talk myself out of the idea or choose a different route.

I've written emails both to people and in content that  I thought I'd never write. I've been down roads and paths I've never been down. I've been into shops I normally just look through the window at. I've sighed up for a seminar that I was not going to attend later in the month.

I've also caught myself talking myself out of my initial idea or route, only to find my initial idea was the way I should have gone! I think this is the crux. How often do I think of something and not do it because I talk myself out of it.
