Off On My Travels - Yet Not How I Expected

Life can be pretty amazing and cruel sometimes to get things done.

Basically huge discussions and events have gone on here. The upshot being I'm getting on another plane.

If you remember in my recent posts and here.I said I wanted to go back to Japan in February. To be honest I had no idea how this was going to happen. I couldn't even believe I'd put it down.

Well I put it on my vision board. I wrote my goal out. I talked as if I was going (looked at a photograph of a friend of mine who lives there and I said . I'll see you soon, I'm coming for your birthday). I got all very excited, lots of good positive emotive power. It makes me wonder because at times I've added extras to I'll just be in Japan as I've thought about achieving my outcome..

I'm blown away with the fact that I'm going to be there. If the add-ons come true as well...OMG!! My other outcomes for the year are oh so easy to achieve now. This to me seemed to be the 'hardest' item to achieve. Bang here it is!

Advice

Write down your goal in the present tense. I have I am. If you already had the goal you would be. Talk to somebody who has what you want. How do they talk...in the present tense.

Create a picture of you outcome..you must see it ever day. It doesn't have to be a vision board. Mobile phone wallpaper? A great place for photographs is here at EveryStockPhoto .

Go for a walk and talk about the goal and why it is so great having already achieved it. Say Thank You many times.

Oh when do I leave..Saturday!

New Year Goal Ended Already?

All,

Now that the New Year rush has died down. I thought I'd ask the following, since I'm sure it has happened to some of you already.

Why do we want something, year, after year and then do nothing about it all year? Moaning is the most we do. What is the one thing that you are looking for when you read all the books on any given subject ie personal development. Many of of the ideas are the same, just different covers and clothing. Yet we buy all the books and go to the same type of seminars to make a change or to be motivated or to learn something different.

Yet we stay exactly where we are. Which was in the same position as six months ago, which was the same this time last year.

Thus, the question we must ask ourselves is:

What prevents you from changing....no really what prevents YOU from changing?

The only thing you can control or change is you. Not those things outside of you ie friends, family, bosses etc. If you change, they also change, why because you have changed. Again :

What prevents you from changing? Fear of X is the most popular reason.

Every thought about fearing the fear?

Thank You and Well Done

All,

I know I've been a little quiet recently. I've been going full out and much has happened here in my life. I've been having another 'chat' with my boss...

I know I thrive on being told thank you by somebody for something I've done. Whether they asked me to or not. Yet I thought to myself saying thank you is said so flippantly these days. blah...blah...blah...thank you . It is said because you have to or it is expected. Not because you really meant it. It got me thinking

When was the last time you said thank you to somebody or yourself. Full on, with so much emotion you could power an entire city?

New Year, New You, New Me, New Goals

The question is now...what next? I'm beginning to think as I always do at this time of year, what do I want to achieve next year. I've had a great year. I have really loved this year. I think before you begin to think about what you want to achieve next year and further it is a good idea to take stock of this year. I feel if you don't, you'll not realise just how much you have accomplished this year. Think, we all have a tendency to down play our achievements. Yet, if you are thankful and take stock of what you have achieved so far, and the year isn't over. Success and achievement can only bring more of the same. As I've written this, I've had a light bulb go off as to what I want next year (I want 2008 to be my most successfully year ever) How, when, where, why?

A quick review of :

2007

Things I did - or those things that I can remember and things I've realised.

Travel - Japan, German, Fiji

Photoread over 30 books - how this all started

Passed my hypnosis exam, after 9 months of playing

Discovered my dad had cancer - is this why I've been learning about NLP and hypnosis?

Carried on playing hockey, when I was so close to quitting

Moved house, even if only temporarily

Turned 30 and loved it

Bought an entirely new wardrobe.

Got my car

Good health

Good teeth

Got a pay rise (even if it was very small)

Realised that I don't want to work at a desk for the rest of my life - ultimate goal, if I must work is to be able to work from anywhere in the world

I've a great family and some brilliant friends, a cracking girlfriend

Need, want or am worth a hell of a lot more money than I currently have.

I like to travel, love my country deeply, yet travelling is such great fun.

What Do I really, really want...What will I admit to myself that I really want? What would have to happen to make 2008 the best year I have ever had?
