How Much Should You Get Paid?

I've just finished listening to another audio book and had a spare few minutes to listen to the radio on the way to work. I don't normally listen to the radio or what television and certainly not the news as I don't actually think it is that good for you. For me the news is telling the masses how to live, behave and think..This is fine if you just want to be average. What if you want to be more than average?

I was listening to a conversation about director's pay. People were complaining about the amount 'non-performing' directors get paid.It actually really made me laugh because the people that were complaining, where those not getting the money. A director agrees a deal (contract) before he signs on, just like an employee. The difference being he things very differently to a employee and their contract.

What is to stop a potential employee asking for share options, bonuses etc ? I think because deep down an employee doesn't expect those things. A director does.

Your Salary = How specialist your job is and how easily you can be replaced. That is if you own your own company, you potentially can pay yourself whatever you want. Somebody once told me your salary is equal to your self worth. Ponder that one. I nearly cried when I first thought on that one. I'm worth much, much more than my current salary.
