New Helpdesk System

All,

In a previous post I asked for your most important question with regards to Photoreading, Hypnosis, NLP, the 4 Hour Work Week etc. Thanks to all those who did and still do. Alas recently the form begun to not function properly.

I've now replaced the form and have allowed people to submit questions via my helpdesk system

http://www.3ldevelopment.com/support/

Graphics etc. haven't been uploaded yet. I thought it was more important that the form was stopped and replaced.

Please feel free to continue to send me your questions and thoughts.

Only 6 Months To Live

All,

I've just spent some of my lunch time in my local bookshop toing and froing between my favourite sections: cooking and travel.

Whilst I flipped though some of the travel books I thought, these writers get paid for these ideas? What an easy way to make a living. I can come up with an idea like this and get paid for it. Then I thought what would you do if you only had 6 months to live? What would you do? What would you do if you only had 6 months to totally change your life for the better?

First thing that came to mind was quit my job. No surprise there then. Soon very soon. Then I thought what else?

Tell more people I love them.

Travel More
Do something I've never done before. How none specific is that?

Several work things came up around more passive cashflow to fund all my travels.

Then what would I do to totally change my life within 6 months?

Apply some of the things I've read actually to my life..more to follow.

What would you do?

If you've never emailed or commented before, what would have to happen so that you did? I'm looking for inspiration, things to do, more reasons to quit my job and a book deal!

Passive Income - 1st Website - www.hypnosis-cds-madebyyou.com

All,

I've been quiet because I've been putting together my 1st passive income stream.

http://www.hypnosis-cds-madebyyou.com

The website shows hypnotherapists and others how they can create there own hypnosis recordings in less than 1 hour. You will receive multiple e-books and instructional videos.

Naturally it doesn't just have to apply to hypnotherapists, that was just my focus and sector for the idea.

Ever since I read The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss, I've been finding websites that have been able to help me towards my goals. If he and others can do it, so can I! Website 1 is up...now on to website 2...3....4.

Things I loved:

I've loved the product creation and ideas stage.
Creating Google Adword campaigns

Things I did not enjoy

Writing the text for the website. It needs much improvement...yet it is up.
Thinking about the design of the website. ie look and feel.

Things that didn't go according to plan.

I got turned down my original payment solution : Clickbank. I think I might be the only person ever to be turned down and I have no idea as to why.
I wasted hours and hours on the smaller details i.e. how will somebody contact me? email...form....database script. I spent ages and ages on that. Yet I charged through the bigger stuff.
I was very much of the thinking...it needs to be perfect...you know what. It doesn't! What needs to happen is that the project needs to get finished and on-line.
My market size is perhaps a little too small. Then again. This is the first website I've done completely. Now rinse and repeat.

I outsourced my website design because I don't know how to do it and it teaches me and I learn how to delegate and ask/write a brief for exactly what I want. Now I've done it once, I've such a better idea next time around.

Things I've learned :

  1. Somethings you think things aren't going your way and you struggle to do anything. In fact waste time doing everything and yet nothing.

  2. Document as you go along. Minor things... and Major Things. After all you want to go away and have somebody else run the shop whilst you are away.

  3. When you think of quitting...stop and think why you are doing this...

    1. You're adding value to other peoples lives.

    2. You on the road to your own goals.

    3. What will your ultimate outcome look, sound and feel like. I spent time just talking to myself and saying. I'm doing this because and then just talk about my goals.

  4. Very quickly I was jazzed up again and came back to the 'work'.

  5. Celebrate every step that you remember to...

    1. Opening up web hosting account

    2. Finishing 1st Video

    3. Finished 1st book

    4. Website going live

  6. I constantly asked myself...how can I add more value?

  7. It is OK to not be perfect. I spent too much time trying to get it perfect at not out there!!

  8. I seated over the minor stuff...Support Email system...script...ref number...email address

  9. If you think of something...ACT ON IT, then and there. Otherwise you forget about it, or move onto something else.

  10. People will tell you things that just don't fit with what you are doing...They'll try and stop you...Revisit why you're doing this and carry on!

  11. Market size matters, yet so does getting your first website on-line. I think if it is your 1st one...market size doesn't matter. What matters more is completing the project. What you learn is far more valuable.

To succeed I think you must

  1. Work, when everybody else is resting, wasting time watching television

  2. Have more than financial reasons for doing this. My other goals include so I can go and live with my girlfriend in Japan for 3 moths. Go to Berlin again and learn German for 3 months. Teach my children (which I don't yet have ) Money is a good thing and you really can do, be have have anything you want. My list goes on and on. It really gets me excited just thinking about all the reasons why I'm doing this and other projects.

The hardest parts are:

  1. Getting started

  2. Overcoming the doubts

  3. Continuing

  4. Finishing

What will I do differently?

  1. Ask more people for advice and help.

  2. Don't sweat the small stuff. Get one solution up and run with it. It may not be the best. Yet you have a base line, a starting point.

My advice to others would be :

  1. Look at/watch/listen to mentors. People you want to emulate. People who already have what you want.

  2. Get it all finished. Then improve what is on-line.

  3. Work when others are not. i.e. after work hours. The television isn't that important. Once you are financially free, you can watch all the television you. want!

  4. Ask for advice. When it is given act on it quickly.

  5. When you have an idea. Act on it there and then.

  6. Keep learning, yet apply what you are learning to. Read, hear and idea and implement it then and there.

  7. Have more reasons than just the financial for doing your project. Revisit them often. Yes, it does take time and effort. All the reason why you can't, shouldn't do it are exactly the reasons why you must do it.

  8. HAVE FUN

  9. Get Started!
